Group similar tasks together
This is called batching, group similar tasks together so they are easy to streamline and get done. It’s always handy If you can get multiple things in one place, make sure you do it. (A list comes in very handy here).
Don’t try and set too much for 1 day-slow and steady.
Although we all go into hyper-speed around Christmas time, we don’t want to burn ourselves out. Plan how long you have to get everything done and pace yourself.
If possible make sure you get your daily goal done first, then you won’t put it off.
We all know how easy it can be to put things off. Try getting your task done first, I’ve found it’s a good way in how to achieve your goals because it leaves the rest of the day for things you want to do.

Delegate tasks
This is what your family is for! It can also help to get them out the house, so that you can do things you usually can’t when they are around. Think, things like wrapping or online shopping for their gifts.
Set yourself a rule.
A bit like getting your errands done first, except slightly more extreme if you are susceptible to distractions. I keep my phone on silent and notifications off until everything is done. That way I have fewer distractions.
Find a playlist you can work to that makes you happy and motivated.
I made a playlist during my second year of university while I was drafting my dissertation. This changed and evolved over time because I found the music I could work to without getting distracted changed. I still use this playlist while I’m creating content or just about anything to do with the blog.

If you have a busy schedule that day, time block an hour to get your daily goal completed.
As I am now a mum of two, I know that time blocking will become my best friend. I already only have short blocks of time available, so it’s important to make the most of them. This will come in handy for you as well. If you know your little ones will sleep after lunch for an hour, plan something productive for that time that they can’t help with. That way your saving the fun stuff for them.

Take an hour each day or even a day each week for some you time, if you burn yourself out, then nothing will get done.
What did I say about pacing yourself? I am no stranger to burnout. Around this time last year, I suffered a major one while studying for my teaching qualification. I pretty much questioned my choice to take that course every day. Make time for yourself, treat yourself or even just find the time to sit and have coffee without doing anything else at the same time. This will go a long way in helping you achieve your goals at Christmas.
What do you do to stay motivated on days where you really just don’t want to do anything?
