How I use My Ultimate Christmas Planner.
Contents
I decided to organise my free Christmas planner in an order that works for me and I encourage you to do the same! That’s one of the great things about this Christmas planner, much of it is left blank so you have complete freedom with most of the elements to it.
I grouped the shopping lists that were most logical to keep together, such as food. Then I tried to keep it in chronological order. This is up to you though, whatever works the best.
Christmas Card List
I don’t post many Christmas cards, so many people on this list will have them hand-delivered. If you need more space, then just print off another Christmas card list. I wanted to make my free Christmas planner as user-friendly as possible, so if you need extra sheets, just print them off separately.
Budget Planner
For obvious reasons, I have blocked out certain parts of my budget planner. I use this backwards, so I don’t decide on a finalised budget to start with.
I make a note of things that I find to buy for others on the gift list page, and then if that total amount is too much, then I go back and see if I can find it cheaper, or search for a cheaper alternative.
The budget planner is about keeping you accountable to yourself about how much you are spending, as well as keeping a record of how much you have spent as well.
Use the budget pages in your free Christmas planner backwards. Then decide if any budgets need to be adjusted.
Gift List
There is a lot blocked out here because this Christmas elf has already been mega busy with buying Christmas presents. Â The gift list page is a great way to track everything that you are buying.
I suggest printing off one of these pages for each person you are buying multiple presents for, as I learnt the hard way when I first filled it in.
If you are like me, then you like to know EXACTLY what you are spending/how much you are saving. This Christmas planner will let you do just that. #Christmas #Christmasplanner Click To Tweet
Online Shopping Tracker
Take a look at the image above to see the online shopping tracker. Personally, I have never seen an online shopping tracker in a free Christmas planner, and I’ve looked at a few! I thought that this was super important for the age that we live in.
I used to find it annoying that I could never remember if everything I had ordered had actually been delivered or not. As before, print as many of these pages as you need.

Stocking Stuffer List
Stockings have always been my favourite bit about Christmas morning, ever since I was a kid. So I wanted to create a page in the free Christmas planner that allowed us to keep track of what we had actually bought.
I didn’t do this last year and had to quickly wrap up the leftovers to go under the tree. Fingers crossed this list is going to stop that!
Food Shopping Lists
Three different shopping lists for food. You could throw it all on one, but then how would you know and make sure you had everything you needed? Plus, edible Christmas gifts are probably going to get made before you cook your Christmas dinner so it might be handy to have them separate.
I like to write down every single ingredient that I need, and then go through my cupboards and cross off what I already have. This is a great way to do a bit of a stock check, and get rid of anything that’s a little past it’s best.
Your Own Wishlist!
You can’t just be the one giving this year. You should receive some gifts you would like as well. Fill in your own wishlist and hand it to your family…or leave it strategically laying around the house for someone to find!
Weekly + Month View Planner
No planner would be complete without some calendar pages, weekly to-do lists or daily to-do lists. Use these as you please. I included each one because I know that everyone works differently.
For example, I don’t really use daily to-do, but I do use the monthly and weekly. You could use your monthly view for important dates (like posting dates) and your weekly view for the tasks you need to get done.
Elf on the shelf planner
This probably has to be my favourite page of the ENTIRE planner. Why? because I am a big kid! I love being able to plan the Elf on the Shelf as well as actually doing it each night. Make a few notes to start with as I have.
At the time, I knew what I would do when Mr Elf arrived and departed for the year so I made sure to write them down before I forgot them. When you have an idea, write it down!

Christmas traditions
Want to make sure you are making time for your family Christmas Traditions? Then use this page to write down everything you want to do with them. Or, if you don’t currently have any traditions, use this space to write down all the amazing finds that you think your family would love.
Christmas eve to-do list
My other half will be happy that I’m filling this out already. Last year was such a rush that I was STILL wrapping presents at midnight after having to put together my sons main present. No, this is NOT going to happen this year! If you find that you do some of these things before Christmas eve then great! More time for you to relax.
Decoration Inventory + Shopping List
This is something you may not think you need to use. If you don’t use it for this year, you definitely should use it for next year.
Decorations that have been coming out year after year start to get tatty or damaged. Make a note of this on your inventory sheet. That way, next year you can refer to that and know what you want to replace.
Thank You Card List
A space to write the person name and the gift that they gave you can save the panic when you’re trying to write those thank you cards.

Notes Section
Then you just have your notes section, for anything else you may need to write that I haven’t covered within the Ultimate Christmas Planner.
That is exactly how I’m using my free Christmas planner this year, and I’ll have it ready to print for next year as well. Some key tips to take away from this are.
-
Set your budgets (and stick to them).
-
Make a note of everything you already know (Christmas related of course) when you first print it out.
-
Plan far enough in advance that it gives you some breathing space to enjoy Christmas.
So there we have it! Don’t forget to download your free Christmas planner at the bottom of the page.
Happy Planning everyone!
