I’m always on the lookout for crafty or tasty things to make with my son who’s now 3!! Easter will be here quicker than ever and the easter bunny NEEDS to have some Easter baskets to leave you some goodies doesn’t he?…or she?
So that’s when I thought, why don’t I and the little man sit down and make some Easter baskets this year, then I can share them with you lovely lot.
The thing I love about these Easter baskets is that you can pretty much make them as big or as small as you want. Mine are smaller because it means the Easter bunny can’t leave quite as much sugar-filled treats.
My son loves making things like this, and when someone like the Easter bunny hand delivers some treats, he goes MENTAL! He gets so excited, bless him and I think that your little hyper bunnies will love them too.
Once the outer shell has been made, you can leave your little ones to decorate them!

Easter baskets
Great to leave out for the Easter Bunny
These require adult assembly, but the kids can really go to town with decorating with paint, felt tips, glitter or whatever you want!
what you need to make your Easter baskets:
lollipop sticks. (these are actually waxing sticks, so are much bigger) or use coloured sticks as I did.
Ribbon for some embellishment once it’s assembled.
Different coloured pipe cleaners for the handle.
Scissors and double-sided tape
You will also need some A4 printer paper.
How to make your Easter baskets
Cut a long length of double sided sticky tape. Keep the sticky side up and secure to the table. I use a metal ruler to make sure I stick my lollipop sticks straight, but I’m sure that I have wonky eyes, so you probably won’t need it. Measure the A4 paper and then line up the same amount of lollipop sticks.
One by one, stick the lollipop sticks onto the tape, making sure that the tape is either towards the top or bottom not the middle.
Once you have stuck down enough lollipop sticks to form into a circle, turn them over so you can see the underside. Don’t trim the tape as I have (oops)
Next, you take your piece of A4 paper. Lay it on top of your lollipop sticks so you can work out where you want the paper to start + finish. Ideally, you don’t want the bottom of the paper basket bit to start any lower than where your lollipop sticks start to curve like I have marked in pencil in the image below.
You then want to peel the backing off the sticky tape and stick your paper down to the back of the lollipop sticks
You then want to cut a large fringe from the bottom of the paper to the pencil line. This will make the bottom of the basket once folded in and stuck down. I’ve just done a mini example below, except you’ll have to fold all the fringes at a right angle.
Join the two ends of the lollipop stick together by using the extra tape and fold in the paper fringe. Stick as much as you can inside, and finish with a good layer of tape on the outside.
Next stop, the handle! I chose pipe cleaners that were the same colour as my lollipop sticks and twist them together, but you can do whatever you wish. Secure with tape on the inside of the basket, add the ribbon around the basket and your done!
The only thing left is to fill your Easter basket with goodies from the Easter bunny

Bunny baskets
A perfect gift for the Easter Bunny to deliver.
A nice surprise for little ones on Easter morning. Plus these are quite small, so you can fill them will mini chocolate eggs. Great for minimising the amount of chocolate consumed, but with extra impact!
What you need to make bunny baskets
scissors and double-sided tape
1x toilet roll tube
White and Pink card to cut these shapes out.
1x white + Pink pom pom
1 pair of googly eyes
1 pipe cleaner
Sellotape and sticky foam squares
How to make your bunny baskets
Take your cardboard tube and cut slits all the way around. Then fold them in to make a base. Secure with tape on the outside. It doesn’t matter if the tape isn’t neat on the sides, as this will be covered up.
Cover the tube in white card or paper, using double-sided tape to secure to the tube. Using the shapes that you cut out of the card start to assemble in the following order using double-sided tape or glue.
Refer to the image above if you need to:
- Stick the pink oval on the body section.
- Stick the head to the body
- Position and stick the arms to the body
- Tape the pink circles to the feet
- Stick the ears to the head section
- Using the squishy foam squares, stick two to each foot and secure to the body.
- Glue the eyes in place,
- Fold the pipe cleaner in half and cut in half with scissors
- Fold each half of pipe cleaner in half again and cut
- Arrange into whiskers and secure with double-sided tape
- Stick the pink pom pom in the centre of the whiskers for the nose
.
For it’s finishing touch, turn it around and glue the white pom pom on the back of the tube for a big fluffy bunny tail.
These really are that easy and simple to make. Plus if you make master templates out of thick card, then you can make these really quickly and easily if you need a few!
Over to you…
