This is such an easy valentine’s day craft for toddlers. It takes a little preparation from an adult, but once that’s done you can let them stick to their heart’s content.
Gifts are so much more thoughtful when they’re homemade by your kids. It is something I treasure and I’m sure that you do as well. I’ve made sure to have a special box to keep all my favourites throughout the years.
Crafts don’t have to cost a lot to make, and this one is no exception. By using your leftover Christmas sweet wrappers and ribbon it’s a great frugal craft for Valentine’s day.

How to make your DIY Valentines Craft
Start by folding your card in half and drawing half of your heart. Make sure that you draw to the fold. Fold the second piece of card in the same way and place on the inside of the piece you have drawn on.
Cut out your heart and open out to reveal your frame. You should now have two identical frames. Keep the heart that you cut out from the middle of the frame for later.
Place one frame to the side for later. Unroll your cellophane and cut out a square piece that is slightly bigger than your frame.
Use your double-sided tape and stick all-around one of your valentine heart frames as I have above.
Peel the backing off of the double-sided tape and carefully stick your cellophane to it.
Then let your toddler cover the cellophane with glue and start sticking on the sweet wrappers. Encourage them to stick the wrappers right to the edge so that you get maximum colour! Then leave to dry overnight.
Repeat the above steps with the heart that you cut out from the middle of the first frame. Use it as many times as you can to get progressively smaller valentine’s hearts.
Once the glue is dry. Take your second frames in each size and put more double-sided tape onto it. Then carefully line up the two hearts and stick it to the cellophane side.
Cut 2 small pieces of your ribbon and secure with sticky tape in the middle of the top and bottom of the heart as shown above.
Use a longer piece of ribbon to create a loop for hanging on the top of the largest heart.
TAH DAH! Then just find somewhere to hang such as a window to so your toddler can see the amazing stained glass that they created.

This is a super easy Valentine’s day craft for toddlers to do and learn about colours and how light affects the wrappers as well. My little boy loved that he could turn the whole world yellow by looking through a yellow wrapper.
This is the perfect Valentine’s day craft for just after Christmas as you can use up your leftover sweet wrappers and ribbon to make it.
