International Women’s Day 2020 is just around the corner. It’s a day where we celebrate all things, women. We also celebrate how far we have come in the fight for equality of all genders. IWD is also a day that we should raise awareness and empower others to do the same.
I’ll be honest, I’m a feminist at heart, but I have never actually celebrated it. Throughout my 5 years at uni, I almost exclusively made work about gender stereotypes, gender inequality and post-feminism and it’s something I am quite passionate about. So, this year I am making sure to celebrate, empower and raise awareness using some of the ideas I came up with when writing this post. Are you going to do the same?

What is the International Women’s Day 2020 Theme?
Each year international women’s day has a theme. This year the 2020 theme is ‘Each for Equal’. You can share your international women’s day pics using #eachforequal on social media. International women’s day 2020 chose the theme of ‘Each for Equal’ from ‘Collective Individualism’. What is this you say?
Basically, it means that we all have our own opinions, mindsets and decide on our own actions. and we are many different elements that are part of a whole. ‘Each for Equal’ means that we can make a change collectively, that we need to work together to make sure that we get an equal society.
