14 Indoor Activities for Kids when you’re Stuck Inside.
Tape Games
I have seen these all over Pinterest lately and I think they are AWESOME. I mean, we all have some kind of tape in our house, so it’s a perfectly simple idea to make this time fun and different, and imaginative for your kids. If you don’t have tape, grab some here
All you need to do is to draw out roads on the floor, up furniture and all around the house for your kid’s cars and then let their imagination run wild.
You could also build little towns with lego bricks around the roads to make it even cooler. I know that my son would think this is the BEST thing in the world right now.
Another idea is that you can use the tape to make up a game that is also educational, for example, you could play match the shapes, match the colours or why not play some music and make your version of musical chairs!
Balloon Games
That’s right, dig out the balloons you usually save for birthdays and use them in different ways.
It could be a science experiment, giant ping pong or the classic “DONT’T LET IT TOUCH THE FLOOR”
Cup Games
Turn the cups on their side, and you have mini-golf. Line them up like bowling pins and knock them over, or try and throw the ball into them. If you assign points to each cup and get your kids to add up the points, then it’s a really fun way to incorporate maths when your kids aren’t at school.

Colour Sorting Games
Perfect for toddlers who are taking their first steps in learning. Use coloured cardboard tubes secured to the wall and get them to match bricks, pom poms, or anything that’s coloured and small enough to fit through them.
If you have coloured tape, you could do a similar task except marking out a coloured square on the floor and getting them to sort the colours.
Number Games
Any game can be turned into a number game. Whether that is using a points system to keep their brains ticking or using post-it notes with different numbers and mathematical symbols such as plus, minus and division to make your equations.
Letter Games
Classic boards games such as scrabble help improve grammar, but they aren’t always that fun for kids. Why not turn it into a hunting game? You could use scrabble tiles, letter magnets or post-it notes that you write on.
Hide all the letters around the house. Then you need to write down a series of words on a piece of paper. The kids need to find the letters to make the words in the quickest time they can. If they have someone to race against it will make it all the more fun!
Old Fashioned Sports Day
Who doesn’t love an old fashioned sports day huh? This is one of the best indoor activities for kids you can get.

- The possibilities are endless for this.

Paper Airplane Targets
You could incorporate this into your sports day if you wanted too as well, but this is good fun to play as a family. First of all, you’ll need to make your target, use the biggest piece of paper or card you have, an old roll of wallpaper would be even better! Cut different size circles out of it and give each one it’s own points. Then make your paper aeroplanes. You could experiment with different styles to see which ones fly the best.
Then fly away! Who can score the biggest number of points?
Edible Finger Paint
If you’re like me, then you want to paint with your kids, but all they want to do is eat it! At least with this edible finger paint, you don’t have to worry about it. Grab yourself some whipped cream (not from a can) and some food colouring. Mix them, and bingo! edible paint. You probably won’t be able to save the pictures that they make, but you can relax knowing they can just have fun without you worrying about how much paint they have eaten.
